PASTORS Gamal & Amal Gerges

My wife, Amal, and I serve as missionaries with the Assemblies of God, U.S. Missions. We have two daughters, Martina, who went home to be with Jesus last June, Rita, who is in medical school, and our son, Patrick, who is in eighth grade. We moved from Egypt to the United States more than eight years ago. We have served in pastoral ministry since 1998 and served as the Assistant Superintendent of the Egyptian Assemblies of God and served as the president of the Bible College in Egypt for almost 6 years. Prior to starting our missionary journey, we served at Heartland Christian Ministries in Bethel, MO.

It was very hard for us as a family to continue in St. Louis after the tragic loss of our beloved daughter in a horrible car accident while we were in Egypt for a visit in June 2021. While grieving, we moved to Harrisburg, PA in mid-November of 2021 to continue serve the King of Kings Jesus who is our Hope and the Hope of all nations. We believe God uses the worst events of our earthly lives for the best for His glory and kingdom, because He is always Immanuel God with us. By God’s grace and your partnership, we will continue to do what God has called us to do to fulfill the Great Commission.

OUR HISTORY

Prior to starting our missionary journey, we served at Heartland Christian Ministries in Bethel, MO. God gave us the vision to plant Hope Arabic Church
It stared at our home for one week and then moved to Harrisburg First Assembly.

During the month of December 2021 we had our services on Saturdays by the beginning of 2022 we are gathering on Sunday evenings at 6 pm.

In February and March we saw the hand of God moving among us. The adults speaking Arabic but their children are speaking English.

The church grew and we asked Pastor Terry to help us with Kids and youth leaders to help us. We started kids ministry and youth ministry by the beginning of March. The average of attendees for the services in March was 25 for the main service, 9 for kids and 6 for youth group.
